Simultaneous interpreters process and memorize words that the source-language speaker is saying, while simultaneously conveying in the target language the translation of the words the speaker said 5-10 seconds ago. The goal for simultaneous interpreting is not to paraphrase, but to convey the exact message.

Over the Phone Interpreting (OPI)
During consecutive interpreting the speaker stops every 1- 3 minutes (usually at the end of every “paragraph” or complete thought), and the interpreter then steps in to convey what was said into the target language.
We recommend consecutive interpreting for small business meetings, parent meetings with school staff, and one to one meetings.

This form of interpreting is performed during an established appointment where the interpreter does not see one or both parties in person, but interprets via telephone.
We recommend OPI when the interpreter is only needed for a short period of time, such as making an appointment or exchanging quick information.
